Ayman Nour

Ayman Nour is a leading Egyptian opposition politician of the al-Ghad (Tomorrow) party. In 2005, he finished a distant second in the country’s first ‘open’ presidential election. Shortly after the vote, Nour was imprisoned on charges of fraud and spent more than three years in prison until his release in early 2009. He is Egypt’s most popular and most recognized opposition figure. He is writing a weekly post for Bikya Masr.
